I am from two cultures: Christian and West Coast Liberal. The resulting blend is chosen based on priorities. This painting highlights a feeling surrounding that blended decision: either culture can find a reason to judge me unworthy of my breath. Some with my modestly and restraint, others by my intimacy and exposure might find my art or my world view shameful. I am ready to speak. I am ready to be me. I am ready to receive both praise and criticism.
